It sure has been a colorful week here at AoHC! The center has practically turned into an art gallery during Power of PLAY, Art week!
Art is a very beneficial form of play for many different reasons. Working with materials such as crayons, scissors, paint brushes and play dough promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Creative activities help children develop attention skills and cognitive learning. Creative expression provides many opportunities for expressing emotions and working through them to gain relief and understanding of them. Engaging in art projects with friends helps children learn new vocabulary words as well as learn to associate pictures with words.
