Dog Safety Class

Last week we had an awesome special visitor here at AoHC. Mrs. Heather, a local dog safety instructor, came and brought her sweet dog, Fiddle. They taught the kids how to approach a dog and the rules to follow if you want to pet a dog that is not yours.
Who has questions for Mrs. Heather?

Listening closely to the rules.

First ask "May I pet your dog?"

Next, hold out your fist and let him smell it.

Now you may pet the dog.

Dogs love to be pet on their ears.

We all learned so much!

It was so fun having Mrs. Heather and Fiddle come to visit. She taught us the three important steps before you pet a strangers dog. She also gave us other dog safety tips and sent us home with our very own dog training certificate!

Family Bounce Night

Last week we had our annual family bounce night at Monkey Joe's. Its always so much fun to give our families the opportunity to mingle and have some play. Outside family events are often the only way that some of the parents get to meet and talk. Monkey Joe's is the perfect opportunity to do so!

Grandparent's Day Tea & Art Show

Last Friday we had our second annual Grandparent's Tea & Art Show. We had a great turnout! It is always so special to see the bond the grandparents and grandchildren have with each other. As we walked so many of the grandmas and grandpas to the classrooms their grandchildren would run as fast as they could and hop up into their arms. So sweet!
The teachers helped their kiddos make special art to give as Grandparent's day gifts. They proudly displayed them all outside their classroom doors.

We loved having the zoo come a visit us here at AoHC. Their instructor brought the wildlife on wheels program to our enrichment room and taught us about some pretty cool animals. She brought a skunk (who couldn't spray thank goodness!), a talking parrot, and the biggest rabbit any of us had ever seen! She even read some stories about each of the animals and let the children act them out!
