AoHC Puppet Show!

Last Thursday, we enjoyed a cute and not to mention very silly puppet show!  We invited our Preschool thru PreK classes to the enrichment room for the presentation.  Front the front desk all one could hear was laughter from the children!  We are so honored to share these moments with our students because we believe laughter is the best medicine, especially young minds!

Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.

We LOVE Our Support Staff!

Nothing keeps us going quite like our Support Staff!  They go above and beyond to keep our center running smoothly.  Here are some of our wonderful members of our team that you may see throughout the day in your child's classroom!

Ms. Ariel is part of our Toddler Squad!

Ms. Allyson is our Infant extraordinaire!

Ms. Kaley is also part of our baby squad!

Ms. Megan, currently training in PreK 3!

Ms. Mika is our Preschool and PreK support staff member, she has been with The Academy for over 6 years!

Ms. Allie can be found in TASK during the afternoon hours, but is also floating the classrooms throughout the day!

Next time you see one of these lovely ladies, thank them for all of their hard work!

Toddler Socialization

Yes, even at the age of 12-18 months, children are socializing!  Just take a peak into our toddler 1 room, many of them are babbling and laughing with each other.  They are clearly communicating and we wish we knew what they were talking about!

Now is when toddler will start to really enjoy the company of other kids, both their age and older. You may notice, though, that pals engage primarily in "parallel play" — that is, they sit side by side but play on their own. Older toddlers (around 18 months old) start interacting more with their playmates but are fiercely protective of their toys.

We love our toddlers and make sure to peak into our toddler 1 room to see all of the socialization happening at such a young age!
