Fall is Here!!

Tuesday was the first day of Fall!! Here at AoHC, Fall is for Family! We are so excited that the weather is now going to be cooler and that we are going to be able to spend more time outside learning about nature. Yesterday many of our friends went on a nature walk to collect items to use today to make fall wreaths. Be on the lookout for the wreaths at pickup!

Hat and Football Jersey day!

At AOHC, we love to incorporate fun activities that get all of the children involved. What many people do not realize is that close and dependable relationships are just as important as active, physical and cognitively stimulating play. These relationships must provide love and nurturance, security and encouragement for exploration.  When children feel a sense of confidence within the community they feel the most happy, safe and loved. Within the last two weeks we had two very fun dress up days that made the children feel the spirit of our school community. It was so cute to see the children make the connections when they would see another child wearing a fun hat on "Hat Day" or a football jersey on "Football Jersey Friday". These connections help their young brains grow in ways we never would have thought of. Always remember that however you can be involved, whatever you can do, your child will benefit if you are an active member of the school community!

Teacher Strong- Fall Conference

On Friday, September 4th, we were closed for our annual fall conference. Our theme this year was TEACHER STRONG. We had a special guest, Mrs. Lisa Murphy, join us on a zoom call to motivate our teachers and give them fun ideas to use in the classroom. Her goal was to identify and create child centered environments while using developmentally appropriate practices.

We appreciate our educators very much and love when we get the opportunity to give back to them. Our day consisted of lots of prizes, music and fun take home items. We used a mixture of camouflage and working out to represent our Teacher Strong theme!
