Valentines Day At The Academy!

Hi everyone! I hope your week has been full of love and appreciation for one another. Earlier in the week, our friends either brought homemade cards or brought a special treat for their teacher. It was so wonderful to see how appreciative the teachers were as children came in to give them their gift. Administration also wanted to show appreciation to the teachers so we had a nice little set up in the enrichment room for the teachers to enjoy. We love and appreciate them all!

Classes then made love monsters puppets in class. The teachers would have all kinds of pieces laid out for them to be creative and make their own version of the love monster!

For Valentines Day, older classrooms talked about the famous, George Washington Carver. The children we so impressed how he figured out different ways to help farmers save their crops and strengthen their soil using peanuts and other things that he had discovered. Classes also had a Valentines celebration where they ate all the delicious snacks and got to enjoy being with one another.

Lastly, we had our mystery reader come visit our PreK classes. Mrs. Natasha is an experienced diver. She came and read a fun book and showed all the equipment she uses when she goes on her fun diving adventures. The kids had so many questions and we could very much tell how excited they all were to see the equipment. What a fun week!

Chopsticks Day, Pink Day, and Shadow Puppet Stories!

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week! This month being the month of love, we have been keeping with the theme. Older classrooms participated in a writing activity. As they always say, practice makes a better writer!

It was also National Chopstick Day. So classes either used chopsticks for lunch or did a chopstick activity. The kids were so fascinated by this, especially when some friends already knew how to use them.

Of course you know that Wednesdays we wear pink and let me tell you, everyone took that seriously. Then finally to finish things off, classes were playing with light by making shadow puppets. What a fun week!
