Fairytales, Historical Figures, Traffic Lights, and Dr. Seuss Week Kick Off!

Hello everyone! I hope this week has treated you well! We had some fun and interesting things in store for all of our friends here at AOHC.

Monday was Fairytale Day. Friends had the choice to dress up as their favorite fairytale character or just dress like you came from a fairytale book. We saw a lot of princesses that day with so many beautiful gowns.

Tuesday, classes talked about the amazing historical figure, Rosa Parks. They learned that she was a tailor/seamstress, her mother was a teacher, her father was a carpenter, and she was famous for being a strong and brave woman who helped others.

Wednesday we learned about an African American inventor that invented the traffic light. His name is Garrett Morgan. A lot of friends and even teachers had no idea that he was the reason for the traffic light that we still use even today. They also talked about what the lights mean and why they are so important for us on the road.

Thursday we read the fun story, "Love Monster and the Perfect Present". It's a wonderful story showing how acts of kindness and some effort can show how much you care for someone. To finish things off, Friday kicks off the first day of Dr. Seuss week. Friends and even teachers dressed up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character or they had a Dr. Seuss themed outfit. What a fun week!
