Spring Cleaning

We've reached that time of the year where we are done with winter and looking forward to spring!

Who has been bitten by the spring cleaning bug early? We have! Here at AoHC, we have cleared out our winter decor and have brought out our spring decor. Getting your spring cleaning out of the way helps make room to enjoy the nice weather that Spring brings.

Spring Cleaning can be an overwhelming task so here are a few spring cleaning tips.

  • Do not make cleaning an all day, every weekend type of event: Set aside a specific time each day for household tasks to be done
  • Ask for help: one of the reasons spring cleaning gets overwhelming is that we try to do it all by ourselves. Make a chart and get the family involved!
  • Wear comfortable clothes you will not mind getting dirty or stained
  • Stay focused on the task at hand: when you get started, do not stop to check your email or phone. Ignore distractions until you are finished with what you want to accomplish.
  • Use a specific order when cleaning: Start from top to bottom or one side of the house to the other. Clean everything in the path you have chosen.
  • Close the blinds when you clean them: Use dryer sheets to wipe them down. Not only will it clean it, it will add an anti-static barrier that will keep dust from resettling.
  • Leave paper towels on the holder when it comes times to clean your windows and mirrors: Use crumpled up newspaper. Don't have that? Use coffee filters. It won't streak and will not leave lint on either surface.
  • Don't forget the overlooked areas: such as washing machine or garbage disposal and even dishwasher.
Happy Spring Cleaning!
