Keeping Kids Safe

Did you know that we have recently started a new curriculum in our older classrooms?  Keeping Kids Safe is a curriculum provided to us by DHS. This is a way for the teachers to provide your kiddos with safety techniques through stories and fun characters. Along with the characters, your kiddos will learn about ways to stay safe while in public. We will talk about stranger danger, what to do during an emergency, and also what to do if they are separated from parents while in a public area.

This curriculum is also a wonderful tool to help our friends learn about their personal space. We talk about the difference between good and bad touch. We learn how to protect our personal areas as well as what to do in a situation where it becomes uncomfortable.

The main purpose for having a personal safety course is to provide parents, caregivers, and children the tools that they need to make sure that everyone is safe.

If you would like more information or would like to see the curriculum, you can visit the link below or talk to your child’s teacher. (Every classroom has a copy of the curriculum)
