Making Reindeer Food

Last week we set up a station for all the kids to make reindeer food for Santa's Reindeer. Once they got their bag of food they got to take it home to sprinkle on their lawn on Christmas Eve.

AoHC Christmas Program

Our little ones did such a great job at the Christmas Program. All of our classes from Preschool all the way through our school age children sang at least one song and dressed according to their songs. They all got back on stage at the end and sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" all together. You never know how it is going to go when you are getting little ones on stage, but we were so proud of our AoHC crew and the great job that they did!

AoHC Food Drive

All through out the month of November we had a food drive here at AoHC. We decided to give all of our families donations to The Well in Spring Hill. The Well started out as a small food pantry at a local church and has turned into a huge provider for Spring Hill families in need. To learn more about the well or how you can contribute click here. Our teachers love having a contest each year where our classrooms compete for a pizza party. The class with the most items donated wins a class pizza party on a day that they choose. So fun!! It has become a huge competition and the teachers and kids really get excited about it!
394 Item Total

Totals for each room.

Our fabulous PreK 2 classroom was our winner with a whopping 113 items to donate. They are looking forward to their pizza party! We are so thankful for such giving families and teachers here at AoHC! We will be sure to continue this tradition next year!!

Thankful For Our AoHC Families

Yesterday around AoHC it was "Thankful Tuesday." With helpers from all over the building at different times during the day, we managed to bake over 100 individual loaves of bread to hand out to our families as they went home yesterday. We had enough left to leave out for our families that missed it yesterday to grab this morning too! We just wanted to let all of our families know how thankful we are that they chose us to care for their most precious possessions, their children. The whole building smelled wonderful and everyone was so excited to take home a loaf of blueberry bread!

Blueberry Bread...yummm!

Grab a loaf on your way out!

So many loaves!

We love to have extra things for our families just to help them remember how much we appreciate them. We only wish we could do something this fun everyday!!

Check out this quick and easy blueberry loaf recipe you and your kids can make together! Or this recipe for blueberry zucchini bread if you want to sneak in some vegetables the kids won't even notice! Happy Baking!!

Trick or Treat Fun

Our kiddos here at AoHC had so much fun trick-or-treating from class to class last Friday. Even the little toddlers walked around to visit their big friends for some candy. Almost everyone wore their costumes to show them off to their friends. What fun!! We had them all saying "trick-or-treat" and knocking on the doors by the end of their classroom rounds. They were prepared for Halloween night!

Branches BOLT

We had so much fun at our Branches BOLT last Tuesday. We want to extend a BIG Thank You to all of those who pledged to support Branches. Branches is a wonderful organization devoted to helping the families and staff of each of the Academy locations. Since it sprinkled a little on our scheduled BOLT day, we kept the fun inside and had a track set up around our enrichment room. The kids ran laps till they could run no more. Even our little toddlers were delighted to run and run!

Check out our super fast racers!!

Water Break!
The kids loved racing around our enrichment room. They were so excited to be able to run around inside and we were so glad that it was for such a good cause. To learn more about Branches click here.

Bike Safety Day

At the beginning of October we kicked off Health and Safety month with bike day. We let the kiddos ride laps around a blocked off section of the parking lot. We had arrows drawn on the pavement and cones for them to ride around. They loved having their own bikes at school and showing off their cool helmets!! During the day, each classroom talked about bike safety and we sent home bike safety tips with everyone.
Waiting to ride to the parking lot!

Go little man!!

Great job going around the cones PreK2!
