Week of the Young Child!

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week. The week of the young child is upon us! We had so many fun activities in store!

Monday was, "Music Monday"! Nothing like singing and dancing to Koo Koo Kangaroo. Even some teachers dressed up to go with the theme. Throughout all the rooms, different songs from them were playing and it was so much fun to dance right along with them. Tasty Tuesday came in right after so we had a special snack in the afternoon. They were....ICE CREAM SANDWICHES!

Wednesday was all about teamwork. It was, "Work Together Wednesday" where classes worked together as a team to build something awesome! A lot of our older friends had a wonderful time building! Thursday got a little bit messy. It was, "Artsy Thursday"! We did some fingerpainting and I do have to say that the toddler rooms really enjoyed this activity. Who doesn't love creating something beautiful with their hands?

Lastly, Friday has come! It's "Family Friday"! We sent home a nature scavenger hunt for families to work together and find. We are definitely excited for the pictures/videos to come. Have a great weekend!

Umbrellas and Sight Words and Bears Oh My!

Hi everyone! We hope your Easter was relaxing and full of fun! This week has had ups and downs when it came to the weather, but we made sure to keep the fun going inside.

Monday, classes made their own versions of umbrellas. Some where made with their hands, some with paper plates, it was great to see all of our friends get creative. Tuesday toddlers and preschool participated in a FrogStreet activity that has been so loved for a long time. They participated in a bear hunt!

Wednesday the older classrooms did a sight word activity. We called it, "Crack an egg, find a sight word". Nothing like learning some sight words while having fun! One class even hid the eggs on their playground for their friends to find. They then talked and went over what each word was. Thursday was....NATIONAL BURRITO DAY!!!! Now who doesn't love burritos? For lunch, classes were served burrito makings for them to make their own. We did have some assemble their burrito while others preferred to enjoy the burrito makings separately.

To finish things off, class had a book to read. It was called, "Worm Weather" it's a fun book about what Spring can do to make changes to our environment. Especially with all the rain. What a fun week! I hope it warms up this weekend!

Happy Easter!

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Here at AOHC, it has been so busy but all of our friends here are so excited for what's coming.

Monday preschool participated in their FrogStreet activity where they went on a shark hunt. A lot of the boys were really into this one because, who doesn't like sharks? Tuesday was the first day of spring. Yay we made it! So teachers got to choose what activity they wanted to do in celebration of it. Wednesday classes talked about the life cycle of a flower. With spring finally making an appearance, we wanted to continue with the theme.

Thursday was a very busy day! The Easter egg hunts were in full swing all day. Honestly, we couldn't have picked a more perfect day! The weather was absolutely beautiful and there were lots of parents that came to help. Friday was the Easter party. The kids were so excited for their special snack. So excited that they had a hard time falling asleep for nap. Not to worry though, teachers did make sure to get ALL the energy out during outside time. Happy Easter to all!

Happy St. Patrick's!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week! It has been very eventful for us here at AOHC. Monday we had a fun science activity where we made shamrocks, but not just any shamrocks, we made FIZZY shamrocks. Now these are extra fun because we had friends put baking soda around the shape and then dripped/poured green vinegar on top to make a fizzy effect. How fun!

Tuesday, classrooms were practicing their writing with something green. Some had some green sand while others had some green rice. Wednesday Toddlers had their activity where they made homemade Jack and Jill puppets and told the story with them.

Thursday classes prepared a trap for their leprechaun. The teachers had so much fun being creative with these traps along with friends that were so excited when he came that night to drop off some sweet gifts! Friday, classes did a rainbow craft to finish off the week. We hope you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
