Workin' Out in the 80s

Fitness Fanatics at AoHC just wouldn't be complete without some 80s workout outfits. We had several kiddos dress up and sport the 80s look.
Mrs. Kelli and one of her fitness friends!

These brothers know how to dress
80s style!

This PreK friend said she wants to dress
like this EVERYDAY!!

Even Mrs. Christine & Mrs. Renee joined
in the fun!

We have had so much fun with fitness fanatics this month! Even though at the end of January our Fitness Fanatics theme is gone until next year, we focus on making healthy choices year round. The healthier meal options and our emphasis on an active lifestyle is what makes us a Gold Sneaker facility. This Monday lunch is on us!

It is the last week of January.  This is the time that some of us have compromised on our healthy New Year's Resolutions.  Therefore this Monday, for Fitness Fanatics, we are sending you off with a Salad to go!  We are making them early in the morning, for you to take with you to work on your way out the door.  It's a mixed green salad, with a separate grilled chicken bag, and a separate cheese bag, so it will stay fresh until you get to work.  Fork & salad dressing included. Enjoy!

ACE visits our teachers for their Birthdays

The classrooms always celebrate our kiddos birthdays, and this year we are starting a special trend for our teachers as well.  This picture is our Ms Niccole who played along, and wore the hat and let Ace come in.  Of course the kiddos loved it and Ace made some classroom rounds as well!  We love Ace and we love our sweet teachers!!

Too Cold Outside??

It may be too cold to go outside this week, but we have gross motor covered over here at AoHC. We are so lucky to have a massive enrichment area that we love to use for gross motor fun! We decided to pull out our bounce house and let the kids bouce away! They loved every second of it. We also set up the balance beam and some other obstacles to occupy them as they waited their turn in the bounce house.
Our Toddlers Loved It

Hoping from circle to circle!

Hi girls!

Little Princess

Uh Oh...fell backwards trying to get out. :)

So much fun!

Happy Feet Soccer Clinic

Tuesday at AoHC we had a Happy Feet soccer representative come and teach our little ones some fun soccer moves! All of our PreK friends enjoyed it so much. Happy Feet uses songs, stories, and fun games to maximize motor skills development. Since we are all about being Fitness Fanatics this month, we thought it would be the perfect time for them to come visit!
This is called "stop bob." Bob is the ball.
The kiddos had to knock over the cones by kicking
the ball into them. You can imagine how tricky
that could be with a wood floor and plastic cones. :)

Listening to Ms. Heather's story.

Doing the "tick-tock" back to the starting line.

The "stop bob" with our other PreK kids.

If you would like to know more about Happy Feet you can click here to visit their website. Our kiddos had a blast and got to work on their gross motor skills all at the same time.

Did you know...

Did you know that today was national bubble bath day? It may seem like a silly holiday but at AoHC we turned it into a fun learning experience. We had all of our kiddos give their baby dolls bubble baths today! So much fun to get the sensory side of water play, but also exciting to practice the valuable life skills of caring for others and respo
nsibility.
Having a blast!

Stopping to pose before going back
to washing the baby.

Playing close attention to his baby.

The kiddos really enjoyed giving the babies baths, even the boys! We found a great website that outlines the benefits of children playing with baby dolls. To read it click here. It even has a section about the benefits of our baby doll bubble baths.
