Physical Me

 Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Some might admit that it wasn't long enough :p. This week was Physical Me. With the Labor Day break, all the children were ready to get out there and run all that energy out! This week, we really wanted to claim the season of fall. With all that heat, we're ready for the cooler weather. We also wanted to start thinking about what we are thankful for. Each class created leaves for our tree in the front. The younger friends took pictures and the older classrooms got to think about and decide what they were thankful for. Whenever you all get a chance, take a look at the tree and see what the kiddos had put on there. 

Another memorable day was when the older classes went on a nature walk. The sun was out, not a cloud in the sky, the breeze blowing just right. It was wonderful to see the kids explore nature that was around them. Who would've thought they would have so much fun exploring what was just out their window/playground fence. 

We also had a grandparents day Friday morning where everyone can eat breakfast together. It was such a joy watching parents taking the grandmas and grandpas around the school and talk about the teachers as well as the classrooms. So much positivity and love went around that morning and we are here for it!

To be honest, I can't believe how fast this week has been going but we're getting closer to fall each and every day! We absolutely CANNOT wait! 

All About Family

 I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! A lot of classes went on a nature walk and grabbed some leaves to trace. Not only did they enjoy being outside, but they got to enjoy exploring what nature has to offer. They really had a good time!  

At The Academy, we like to instill self love in our kiddos and remind them how awesome they are. The older classrooms  got to do an “I am” craft where they think of things that make them unique and special. It’s always great to remind them so that they never forget. 

Another activity we did was make our own scarecrow puppets! The kids really got creative with these and were proud of their work! 

Can you believe it’s getting so close to fall!?! It’s crazy! I know some are ready for the weather to cool down a bit. We’re especially excited for the leaves and trees to start changing. The teachers are getting really pumped for the conference this Friday! Hope everyone has a wonderful LONG weekend! (We could use that every once in a while).

Out of This World Week!

 Hello everyone! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week! I know our friends here had an out of this world week! Monday, we had everyone dress up like we were from a different planet. Some had space themed dresses and shirts. Even the staff were in on it and really had fun with it. Wednesday, the teachers made galaxy slime! It was so cute to see them enjoying the squishy glittery substance they made. Our little space explorers also hopscotched from planet to planet, who would've thought traveling to all the planets would be possible ;). 

Back to School Week!

 Wow! What a bittersweet week! The kindergarteners are officially in big kid school! We wish them all the very best and hope they never forget their time with us. On another note, the new PK4 class are just having a blast in the new classroom. I know the teachers are just as excited as they are to kick off the new school year. Of course all the rest of the classes are doing so well with the move and adjusting to a new class. We even have new friends that started this week! We are so stoked to have you all as a part of the Academy family! We're so excited for all! This week has been about self and family! Families got to fill out "All About Me" sheets for their kiddo so teachers can get to know them better. The teachers loved reading all of them and seeing their pictures. They also got to make their family photo with their fingerprints! What a fun week this has been! 

Just Imagine...

 Wow! Can you believe that it's already August? I know all of us at the Academy don't! This summer has just been flying by so quick! It's getting close to the time where our kindergarteners will leave us to go to big kid school! It makes our hearts so sad, but we are so excited for their journey that they're about to embark. This week the teachers got to have a picnic with their class. The toddler class really got to enjoy being able to sit at the carpet with their friends (because it was too hot outside). We could tell they really liked the change of scenery. Another activity they did was making fairy dust. Where they could write their name or draw pictures on it. Of course for Friday we went all out with the superhero outfits! All of them were looking and complimenting on everyone's costumes! They even played superhero games while they were outside! What a fun week this has been!
