Hello, everyone!
It’s Camping Week here at the Academy, and we’re off to an exciting start!
On Monday- we had the pleasure of welcoming Boy Scout Troop 48, who shared their knowledge and expertise with us. They led an engaging session on the essential do’s and don’ts of camping, helping us learn how to stay safe, be prepared, and make the most of outdoor adventures. A huge thank-you to Troop 48 for kicking off our week with such valuable insights!
On Tuesday- Our youngest adventurers in the baby classes got creative by making bear footprints, while the Pre-K classes brought the story to life with a fun and energetic “Going on a Bear Hunt” dance right in their classrooms !It was a day full of excitement, imagination, and teamwork.
On Wednesday- it was Water Day, and it was a splash-tastic time for everyone! In addition to all the water fun, our campers got creative with a floating boat activity using aluminum foil. Each child designed and built their own boat, then tested to see if it could float—and how many "passengers" (like small toys) it could hold! It was a perfect mix of science, creativity, and hands-on fun, and our campers loved every minute of it.
On Thursday- Our little learners had a toasty time with a delicious theme—s’mores! Each child received a special "Grab & Go" s’mores kit to take home and enjoy with their families. In the classroom, several groups participated in a fun and creative s’mores stacking activity, building their own sweet towers while learning about balance and teamwork.
On Friday- We ended the week on a creative note with a rock painting session in the Enrichment Room. Each child got to pick their very own rock, which they painted alongside their families. This hands-on activity wasn’t just about art—it also provided a wonderful opportunity for families to mingle, socialize, and build new relationships. It was heartwarming to see everyone connect while making lasting memories together.
