Dramatic Play

Do you know what dramatic play is? It’s when a child dresses up and uses their imagination.

What are some of the benefits of dramatic play? Dramatic play has many benefits to a growing child. It helps with their self regulation, meaning it helps them to be able to sort out their emotions. It helps with language and literacy by further bdeveloping the words that they know. It helps them to learn how to solve a conflict that might come up between them and a friend. It also helps to relieve any emotional tension that might be bottled up. Dressing up and pretending to act out a situation helps to give children a sense of empowerment when acting out certain situations.
