The Life of a Ladybug

I never thought I would get attached to a bunch of bugs!!! We have had a ladybug farm here at AOHC for the last few weeks and they have gained quite a popular following. They started out as tiny pupa that looked nothing like a ladybug. We came in one day and they weren't moving at all! Come to find out, they were in their "shells" going through metamorphosis to become ladybugs. Most of the adults I spoke to about them had no idea they went through this process. It was quite a learning experience not only for our students but for our parents and teachers too!
Here are the remaining "shells" of the pupa.
They really like to climb on the paper like a maze.

Here they are all grown up!

We will all miss them but know they are in store for some great adventures!!

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we had a blast hunting for eggs at AoHC. A BIG thank you to all of our families who donated eggs and candy!! With the rain coming in we were worried about hunting outside, but we managed to get all of our classrooms hunting before the raindrops began.
Look at my eggs!

Say cheese!

Showing off their loot.

Keeping our smiles bright!

We want to thank Farrow Dentistry for coming in and talking to us about our teeth and how to keep them clean and healthy. They did such a great presentation that really got the kids involved and they loved it!
All the kids paid such close attention.

Our volunteers were dressed up like dirty teeth and we were shown how to brush the germs away.

Once we brushed, we learned how to floss in between our teeth.

Everyone gave the presentation a thumbs up!
It was great to learn about keeping our teeth and gums clean in such a fun way. The best part was, we all got to take home a new toothbrush, toothpaste and floss!
